Open the calculator → Enter a sale price and pick a marketplace to auto-fill typical referral and fulfillment assumptions, then adjust to your actual known rates.
What it estimates
- The marketplace's referral/commission fee for the category you select.
- An estimated fulfillment cost based on a size/weight tier you provide.
- The resulting take-home amount and rough margin before advertising, storage, and returns are factored in.
How to use it well
Start with the auto-filled category assumptions to get a fast estimate, then replace them with your actual confirmed rates from your seller account once you have them — category fee percentages and fulfillment tiers are platform-specific and change periodically, so the calculator's defaults are a starting point, not a guarantee of your exact current rate. Cross-check against the current fee schedule on the specific marketplace hub you're pricing for.
A quick worked example
A $22.00 sale price, 15% referral fee, $4.80 fulfillment fee: fees and fulfillment take $3.30 + $4.80 = $8.10, leaving $13.90 before landed cost, advertising, storage, and returns. Compare that $13.90 against your landed cost to see how much room is left for the rest of the full cost stack.
When to move to a fuller model
This calculator is a fast first-pass fee estimate. Once you're ready to include advertising spend, return rate, and storage cost — the layers that usually make the biggest difference between an estimated margin and a real one — move to the Product Profitability Calculator.
