Walmart's expedited delivery program lets you offer OneDay or TwoDay delivery using your own warehouse, carriers, and logistics — no enrollment application, and no need to move to WFS. The upside is real: Walmart boosts search visibility and Buy Box advantage for expedited-eligible listings, shows the fast-shipping badge, and gives preference during Marketplace sales events. The catch is that enrollment is automatic once you clear the performance bar, and it can be lost the same way if performance slips.
Eligibility — what you need to clear
- An active Seller Center account (inactive, suspended, or terminated accounts don't qualify).
- Performance over the trailing 30 days meeting all three minimums, checked via the Performance dashboard:
| Metric | Minimum |
|---|---|
| On-time delivery rate | > 90% |
| Valid tracking rate | > 95% |
| Cancellation rate | < 1.5% |
- Either more than 90 days as a Walmart Marketplace seller, or at least 20 fulfilled orders meeting the above standards within the last 30 days — so a newer account can still qualify through volume rather than waiting out the tenure requirement.
Enrollment happens automatically once you clear these — there's no application to submit. Confirm your status on the Shipping info page of your Shipping Profile, under Premium Program Participation; if you don't currently qualify, the status message there explains why.
Configuring your shipping settings once enrolled
You have two ways to actually assign OneDay/TwoDay shipping once you're eligible:
- Simplified Shipping Settings — calculates delivery promises from your live fulfillment settings, closing the gap between promised and actual delivery automatically. Walmart recommends this as the faster-to-configure option; see Simplified Shipping Settings for setup.
- Manual Shipping Templates — assign OneDay or TwoDay at the SKU or template level yourself, for more granular control over which specific items carry the promise.
Settings that actually protect the badge
Beyond initial enrollment, Walmart's own suggested configuration for staying consistently inside the delivery window:
| Setting | Suggested configuration |
|---|---|
| Lag time | Set to 0 for expedited offers |
| Inventory | Keep stock levels current across every fulfillment center carrying an expedited SKU |
| Operating schedule | Consider a 5pm local cutoff time to widen the pool of customers who see a TwoDay promise |
| Weekend delivery | Enable Saturday/Sunday delivery if your carriers can reliably guarantee it |
| Carrier services | Use premium services (e.g., FedEx Express) where possible; ground service can still work for orders shipping close to the fulfillment center |
| Shipping labels | Ship with Walmart labels are discounted 25% for expedited-enrolled sellers |
You're solely responsible for verifying that a given product can actually be delivered on time under the program — weight, distance, or other constraints that would prevent timely shipping need to be accounted for in your own listing setup, not assumed away by enrollment.
FAQs
Can I use a third-party logistics provider and still qualify? Yes — third-party providers including Flexport and ShipBob are referenced in Walmart's program guidance as usable for expedited delivery, though your approval status and visibility into it may depend on how that provider reports performance back to Walmart.
Can I opt out once enrolled? Program guidance doesn't describe a one-click opt-out in Seller Center documentation reviewed here — check current settings in your Shipping Profile, since enrollment is tied to your ongoing performance rather than a toggle you set once.
Does losing eligibility happen automatically if my metrics drop? Yes — since enrollment itself is performance-driven and automatic, falling below the on-time delivery, valid tracking, or cancellation thresholds puts your continued participation at risk the same way qualifying did in the first place.
Can I charge customers extra for OneDay or TwoDay delivery? This is addressed in Walmart's program FAQ in Seller Center — check current guidance there, since pricing rules for expedited shipping can be category- or program-specific.
